So after 3 lovely years at Vanity Fair, it’s time for the next chapter of my life. November 15th was my 3 year anniversary, and also my last day at VF. It’s been amazing and I’m so grateful for my time there and the people I’ve met.
Cheers to my Vanity Fair family. I will miss you all so dearly.
3 weeks before my last day I installed a installation in my Design Director, Chris Dixon office. Our guidelines were to use the wall and fill it with something to inspire. Originally I wasn’t going to volunteer to go the first week, but that night, a thought popped into my mind – it was Halloween next week… I wanted to do something with candy – A candy mural! I mean who doesn’t like candy? (I mean, people at VF LOVE candy) I wasn’t sure what exactly it would be of.
The next day I volunteered to go first.. 5 lbs of candy from Economy Candy, plus a sponsered shipment of candy from hershey’s, and 500 T pins later… my masterpiece was finished:
(The picture looks so much more red/pink toned on a computer vs on a phone.. also special thanks to John Lockett for getting us hooked up with more Hershey’s candy and helping me T-pin the suckers into the wall)
It ended up being a success! People loved it (SCORE :]!) Little did I know that the week after I’d be putting in my two weeks. Or I suppose it was a possibility, but really, I didn’t know. I was being heavily poached by Marie Claire at that time and I was very back and forth on what was the right move for me to make. However in the end, I did accept their offer after some “chatting”. So today, I start my first day at Marie Claire. My new home will be in the Hearst Building! They seem to have a lot of building perks here :]
So another chapter has come to an end, and a new one begins! Very bittersweet, but I’m very excited as well.
Stay tuned… Much love.
